Dark Nation

Welcome to Dark Nation!

“People who like Slayer like Dark Nation.” – Ruth Milne

Dark Nation formed and collectively waged War on the Church in 1997 in Rapid City, SD. After playing their first show at the Bucket O’ Blood, Dark Nations sound grew and expanded from its early death metal beginnings with influences from black metal, punk, thrash, etc, creating their own brand of brutal metal. The duel guitars and vocals create a jaw dropping auditory assault while the thundering drums and bass coupled with a touch of acoustic guitars not only appeases the senses, it pulverizes them as well. Dark Nation requires that each member strive to improve and perfect their technical musicianship and songwriting abilities.

“Real music, real instruments, played with real blood and sweat.”

When Dark Nation plays live the band believes that the music is the most important part, the sheer passion in which they invest there energy on stage makes for one of the most energetic performances around. The intense shows are known to spawn mosh pit contests from time to time, in which free T-shirts are thrown out into the mosh pit for the winners. Dark Nation has played many shows in various venues, playing with bands of many diverse styles, ranging from punk rock to death metal, Indie acoustic to thrash.

Some of the bands that Dark Nation has played with over the years include; Damad, Cattle Decapitation, Bible of the Devil, Hudson Falcons, Bloodlet, Resin, Carrion, Fall of the Bastards and many more.

Dark Nation is actively continuing the War on the Church recording a new album that will be out very soon! So, watch out!
